West Cornwall Grade II* farmhouse

An important Grade II* listed Cornish house. The repair and conversion was informed by a full historical analysis of the building, resulting in little alteration to historic fabric but allowing a useful conversion to form an income generating holiday cottage alongside an apartment for artists-in-residence with a studio and meeting/gallery space. Inappropriate roofing materials were replaced with scantle slate and an unsightly extension was removed. Extensive discussions with Historic England allowed the addition of a carefully detailed external access stair on top of the existing granite mounting block. Heating is with a new woodchip boiler.
